EDUCATIONAL FUN for YOUNG CHILDREN

Sunnyside offers a variety of enrichment classes and activities to fit each individual family's needs, desires and budgets. Take alone, or add to any of our year round school programs. As always, our classes are fun filled with a curriculum that keeps children interested and enthusiastic about learning and growing in all areas of child development.

We are currently planning our schedule for fall and winter classes. If there is a class or activity that you would like to see offered, please call or email us your suggestions as we value your input and ideas!

 

SUNNYSIDE COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP
Wednesdays 10:30-noon. Spend time interacting with other children and parents in our preschool classrooms while engaging in a fun, social and active learning environment. Art activities, circle time, snack, outdoor play and more! Please contact us for further information or to pre-register.

 

SUMMER CAMPS

ADVENTURES IN LEARNING - For ages 3-5
Tuesday and Thursday    |    July 6th - August 26th    |    9:30 -12:45 (children bring lunch)
Children will have a great time learning fun and new things in this thematic based camp that focuses on all areas of early childhood development.
Eight week Session: $300.00 payable in 2 monthly installments of $150 each
$36 reg/supply fee -due at time of registration
Class size limited to 16

I'M READY TO READ! - For children entering Pre-k and Kindergarten in the fall
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday    |    July 6th - August 26th    |    9:15 -1:00 (children bring lunch)
Is your child on the verge of reading, or ready to advance their newly developed skill? Join us for a fun thematic based and balanced literacy program that will help your child to gain the skills needed to read ( phonemic awareness, letter and sight word recognition) or to improve their already emerging reading skills in literacy centers and through guided, shared and independent reading.
Eight Week Session: $450.00 payable in 2 monthly installments of $225 each
$45 reg/supply fee - due at time of registration
Class size limited to 16

SUMMER LINK 1.2.3. - For children entering grades 1-3 in the fall
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday    |    July 6th - August 26th    |    9:00 -1:15 (children bring lunch)
Ensure that your child is ready for the start of the new school year this fall. In this fun thematic based camp your child will retain and advance previously learned skills while learning new ones! Our state certified k-3 instructor will assess where your child is academically and keep them engaged and excited about progressing to the next level. Daily curriculum will tackle reading comprehension, decoding skills and fluency, while addressing writing skills, mathematical problem solving and math proficiency and also include fun art, music and drama activities.
Eight Week Session: $500.00 payable in 2 monthly installments of $250 each.
$60 reg/supply fee - due at time of registration

Is your child on the verge of reading, or ready to advance their newly developed skill? In this class instructors will give an overview of summer programs targeted for children entering kindergarten or reading enrichment classes next fall. Parents will learn how to give their child a successful start into the world of reading. Our reading specialist will give ideas and techniques to use at home with your child to increase letter recognition, phonemic awareness and to recognize sight words. Learn how a balanced literacy program will help your child to gain the skills needed to read or to improve their already emerging reading skills in literacy through guided, shared and independent reading.
